Listen to Fae's audio description of each of her artworks below.
Fae Kilburn is a Midlands based artist and arts facilitator, specialising in printmaking, Fae’s art is both research and process driven: incorporating text, narrative, and imagery, interwoven in a multidisciplinary visual language. She uses a variety of methods such as monoprint, silkscreen, collagraph, etching and cyanotype.
Fae’s work is inspired by history, identity and disability. At times her work is autobiographical, and often includes the lived experiences of other disabled people. This has become an ongoing collaboration between their narrative and her artistry. Creating disability awareness is an important part of Fae’s practice, which often manifests in tactile pieces designed to be handled. As an arts facilitator, she is well-versed in making her workshops and participatory events accessible. Fae is looking forward to immersing herself in The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital and the NHS rich history during her residency.
She exhibits regularly in the UK. Funding from organisations including Arts Council England have enabled Fae to work internationally as artist in residence in Canada, leading to further residencies, exhibitions and funding.
