Thanks to you our generous supporters, we often receive donations of toys and games for our patients, particularly around the festive seasons such as Easter or Christmas, and whilst we are incredibly grateful for these, we do have some guidelines around what we can or cannot accept.
Toy Donations
Due to issues such as infection control, health and safety and limited storage space, we can only accept new toy donations and there are some types of gifts we cannot accept at all, such as soft toys, clothes (unless new) and second-hand toys. We have put together a list to give you an idea about what you could donate for our young patients, and some guidance about what we can and cannot accept. Please contact us to arrange a toy delivery or to speak to a member of the Fundraising Team.
If you’re thinking about donating a toy to our kids to comfort or entertain them during their stay with us, why not contact us for some ideas. Being hospital is daunting for anyone but even more so for our youngest patients, having a new toy will make a child smile, but the power of an uplifting experience during a stressful time can mean the world. Play is so important to a child’s recovery, so it’s our aim to bring play activities and a feeling of normality to the bedsides of our poorly children. Donate today and we can provide more of these moments to enhance their experience, by helping them feel calmer.
